Voices for the Voiceless
"I am frequently dismayed by the sad awareness that our people forget too easily." -Feng Ji Cai (author of Ten Years of Madness: A Memoir of the Chinese Cultural Revolution).

In 2019, the Utah State Legislature passed HB0116 which designated November 7th at Victims of Communism Day.
At Utah Voices for the Voiceless, we bring awareness to the atrocities of Communism and honor its victims. Each year, we host a memorial in the Capitol Rotunda. This year, we are honoring the Victims of Romanian Communism. Members of the Romanian community who have lived under Communism will be offering speeches, memories, and songs.
Our 1st Amendment speech contest for Utah youth from grades 1-12 will provide speeches which highlight the importance of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution and giving tribute to a victim of Communism of their choice.
Join us on November 7th, 2025, at the Utah State Capitol Rotunda as we honor those who have suffered and to celebrate our rights as Americans. This event is free to the public.
